Solution
Claar Delfsma, creative director DPid:
“The design concept is ‘development’ in a symbolic way: A patient in the Oostvaarderskliniek will get step-by-step, treatment to recover and safely return into society. The style elements remain recognizable, coherent and consistent for the clinic and outsiders.“
We delivered a wide range of communication items, starting with the new logo, corporate identity, brand manual and adaptation on many different items: website, signage, icons, brochures, direct marketing, annual reports, correspondence, tableware…
DPid received a Red Dot Design Award, for the work on this case. The jury reported: Its striking word/picture mark shows the visualisation of a step-by-step development that the patients experience during their resocialisation. A warm dark violet and specially selected contemporarytypographics support the appealing corporate design whose implementation includes all spheres of communication as well as a building signage system, staff clothing, and objects of daily use such as tableware.
Challenge
Dirk Pieter van Walsum, brand strategist at DPid: “the Oostvaarderskliniek asked us to develop a specific and meaningful identity for the merger. Combining different organisations is always a challenge. The strong brand identity brings cohesion and is a major step forward".
