DPid is a multi-disciplinary design company, specialized in corporate identities. Starting with strategic insights to a new or restyled identity approach, which is suitable for every possible communication carrier: print, web, campaigns, exhibitions, packaging and signage.
DPid designs solid content, and beautiful effective communication, always commited to original and striking concepts. They consider reputations, securities and accumulated values. Not conservative, rigid or defensive but wise and very effective.
The acronym DPid stands for design power, idea driven. DPid is led by its founding partners, designers Dirk Pieter van Walsum and Claar Delfsma. Since 1991 their personal involvement, extensive experience, and continuous attention to details and nuances of projects as they evolve, they set high standards for creating excellent work.
Cooperation
DPid works intensively together with a team of proven experts and freelancers. Therefore, DPid can keep the overhead low as much as possible for website development, photography, illustrations, print, namecreating and copywriting. Each project has its own demands for expertise, availability and budget.
Creative directors
Dirk Pieter van Walsum founded DPid in 1991 and has extensive experience in designing effective product branding, and strong brands. On the project pages you will find a selection of work for various clients.
After studying Industrial Design at the Technical University of Delft in the 2003 the studio of Dirk Pieter van Walsum moved to Amsterdam. Since 2004, the Studio is called: DPid Design, or simply: DPid.
Claar Delfsma graduated at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (BA Hons) in 1996 and worked freelance for cultural events (Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst) and for Keja Donia and Interbrand on (international) corporate projects: Icelandair, Reebok, Bank of Bahrein, BT. For six years she worked for TBWA \ Designers Company on B-to-B projects, corporate identites and consumer communication / packaging / retail concepts: Swatch / Calvin Klein, Heineken, Diabetesfonds, Holland Casino, Perfetti VanMelle, Dayzers (Staatsloterij), TomTom, Wanadoo, Otto and Nivea. She also advised and designed corporate identities for Austria 3 \ TBWA in Vienna. At Floramedia she was freelance creative consultant for 1,5 years. Besides being a consultant and designer, she was a tutor at the TU Delft and guest lecturer at the Kuwasawa Design School in Tokyo.
